Technical Bulletin 2/05 Camshaft Timing For 1993-2002 Mazda 2.0LDOHC FS Engines The AERA Technical Committee offers the following information regarding the camshaft timing for 1993-2002 Mazda 2.0L DOHC FS engines. This is a dual overheadcamshaft (DOHC) engine and different camshaft sprockets have been used. Technicianshave expressed confusion when referencing service information because they can’t find dia-grams matching the sprockets they have. Refer to the illustrations below to correctly position the camshaft and sprockets. After doing so, tighten the sprocket mounting bolt to 37-44 ft/lbs (50-60 Nm). The crank-shaft gear-pulley bolt should be tightened to 116/122 ft/lbs (157-166 Nm).
