In the last few years Nikon has unfortunately started to make their older manual focus lenses obsolete by introducing new camera bodies like the D100, N80, N65, etc that do NOT allow the photographer to meter with the lens on the camera. Having to carry around a separate light meter takes away from the fun and spontaneity of the photographic process and can cause you to easily miss that all important shot. Many loyal Nikon fans with a collection of manual focus lenses are also disappointed that they do not work on the latest Nikon F Mount Digital camera bodies like the D100, Fuji S1, and Fuji S2. Fortunately a wide variety of lenses can be upgraded to provide all the functionality of an AF lens on these new Nikon bodies. They of course will still be manual focus lenses though.
