CALCULUS When taught in high school, calculus should bepresented with the same level of depth and rigoras are entry-level college and university calculuscourses. These standards outline a completecollege curriculum in one variable calculus.Many high school programs may haveinsufficient time to cover all of the followingcontent in a typical academic year. For example,some districts may treat differential equationslightly and spend substantial time on infinitesequences and series. Others may do theopposite. Consideration of the College Boardsyllabi for the Calculus AB and Calculus BCsections of the Advanced PlacementExamination in Mathematics may be helpful inmaking curricular decisions. Calculus is a widelyapplied area of mathematics and involves abeautiful intrinsic theory. Students masteringthis content will be exposed to both aspects ofthe subject.
