Up until mid January 2005, we used PRWeb and eMediawire to publish our releases because they were routinely being cached and indexed by Google in a week to ten days. The underlying press release headers were Google friendly which made them very easy to optimize for Google placement. In January those releases disappeared from Google altogether so we were forced to find an alternative publishing platform. (I personally think this occured for one or both of the following reasons: 1) When PRWeb and eMediawire (PRWeb’s sister) distribute a release, they produce five separate editions which creates a great deal of duplicate content. Google as we know doesn’t like duplicate content. 2) PRWeb and eMediawire changed the header on their press release template so it is less search engine friendly.
