Crossword Puzzle for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Purpose: This vocabulary strategy will help studentsto be excited about learning the definition to certainwords in chapter 10 of Harry Potter and the Chamber ofSecrets. Students will be able to fill in the cross-wordpuzzle with the words they learn from the chapter. Objective: Students will be able to accurately fill in the cross-word puzzle with the words thatthey will read in chapter 10. Directions: The student activity sheet has the cross-word graph and a list of definitions for thewords. Students are to fill in the crossword puzzle after reading the definitions to the vocabularyfrom chapter 10. After students have read chapter 10, the cross-word puzzle should be handedout and they should have 10-15 minutes to fill it out. Teacher may give a list with the just thedefinitions to the students while they are reading the chapter.
