Renault remains a step aheadwith Grand Scénic The best-selling car in Europe in 2003, Mégane II is now available in 7 bodystyles, 18 months after its launch. The 7-seater version of Scénic II, GrandScénic, makes Renault the first manufacturer to offer two versions of differentlength in the compact MPV segment, in the same way as Espace IV at the top ofthe range. This diversity responds to new needs and leaves the buyer free tochoose between compactness and greater interior space. Forming part of theMégane II programme from its outset, Grand Scénic retains a dynamic and bal-anced design, thanks to the increased length of both its wheelbase and its rearoverhang. It carries over the innovative features and equipment which madeScénic II such a success, while providing two extra seats. Grand Scénic benefitsfrom new 1.5 dCi 100 and 2.0 16V turbo engines. Drawing on Renault’s expertisein flexible production, the two versions share the same assembly line in theGeorges Besse plant at Douai (France).
