Calculus is one of the greatest achievements of the human intellect. Inspired by problems in astronomy, Newton and Leibniz developed the idea of calculus 300 years ago. Since then, each century has demonstrated the power of calculus to illuminate questions in mathematics, the physical science, engineering and the social and biology sciences. Calculus has been so successful because of its extraordinary power to reduce complicated problems to simple rules and procedures. Calculus I course is a modular course, divided in 3 modules. The course is 5 hours per week, for 4 credits, split in Lecture classes (3 hours per week) and S.I. classes (2 hours per week).
